I agree.  It would be nice to have a 24-1xxIS with the new IS mechanism
built in.  It wouldn't really matter whether it was 2.8-4, or 4-5.6, IMO.
As long as it has the dual-mode IS with improved response time allowing the
"three stop" advantage the new 70-200IS does!

I'd rather give up 25-30mm at the long end of this lens in favor of those
4mm on the wide end.  Those 4mm make a bigger difference in terms of angle
of view.
