Lol! I got with two, for longer than 30 seconds, just a few weeks ago, in Utah . . .
and I was only about 30 feet from my car. Flew right over my head. Of course, I was
working on a rather pointless wide-angle shot at the time, and so had the wrong lens
on that camera body. I did manage to get a couple shots off once back at the car
where I could attach a long lens, but by then they'd gained some altitude and the
photos are pretty weak. :-)
Saw one the day before too, near Rangley, Colo.; but OTOH, these were first I've seen
since, um, 1973 (or was it '67?).
