In the current issue of Pop Photo, there is an article that compares Canon
"IS" to Nikon's "VR". They used a Canon 100-400mm "IS" as their test lens.
One of the comments in the article was how fast the Canon lens AF'ed. It
was faster than the Nikon. I have used a 100-400mm "IS" for a number of
months now and have been very satisfied with the AF.
