Hi Guys, I actually use my 300/2.8IS in mode 2 about 80% of the time.
Whereas on fast corners I used to run shutter speeds of 1/250 - 1/500 to
keep the subject truly sharp, I now run from 1/90 - 1/200 on the same
corners and get pin sharp subjects with a more blurred, pleasing,
background. This has been a real benefit for my type of work in two
respects - most of the orders I get are for 20" x 30" prints from the track
days and now that I can run ISO100 (reala) more often it has given me more
confidence with offering the biggest enlargements (can get a bit grainy with
ISO400).
