You probably don't even need to reverse the slide--you should also be able to
bring all the areas of the slide into sharp focus, even if not all at the same
time, using manual focus. A lot of projection lenses out there are pretty
poor--I was finally able to snag a Schneider 90/2.8 (NOT a zoom) that works
pretty well--but also the gate in your projector may not be perfectly aligned (I
had one like that). Unfortunately, good projection lenses cost about as much as
a good camera lens, and you're still at the mercy of film that's not absolutely
flat in the mount.
