Sorry, I have to disagree. There is semi-lots of space below the
camera where the PB-E2 is fitted and also some space in the grip
(of PB-E2).

In fact: when/if time allows and if I find some almost free digital
(P&S ?) camera I might do a "prototype" by disassembling the
digital camera and inserting the electronics in an EOS-3 (CCD and LCD
perhaps at the back and the rest of the electronics below the EOS-3
body; who knows where all the batteries and card slot would fit).

At least it would be slightly challenging I bet... And the
multiplying coefficient would be huge 5x or such. Don't ask about
the shutter delay etc...
