Hi guys:

Just talked to the technician of Brighouse Repair (a Canon authorized repair
shop), he thinks there is a seal in the lens not sitting at the proper
position.  It seems that this is possible for new lens as the seal could be
installed off a bit during assembly.  He recommends if the noise doesn't go
away in a month or so, I could bring it in for service.  I guess I'll use it
for now until then.

Thank you all of you who have provided so much useful information for me.  I
will keep you up to date as to the progress.  :)
