here is a compatibility list quoted from a post of a nikon list i'm on:
G lenses are compatible with the F5, F100, F80, F65, F60, F50, F55, F401, Pronea 600i, Pronea S and D1, D1x, D1h bodies, and can be used in P and S modes in F4, F90, F90x, F70, F801, and F601M.
