Hi All,
Some years ago, in Macau, China, I bought a Toshiba Drybox to keep the
moisture out of my Canon cameras. It worked OK for sometime but then the
motorized mechanism needed to be replaced. Two years later, I was already in
Portugal, it happenned again, and this time it never worked as well as
before.

I decided to take out the mecanism and replace it with a small wattage lamp
or resistance to keep the interior warmer than outside. I know it works.

But then I discovered a product my wife is using to remove the excess
humidity from inside the wardrobe. It seems to be calcium chloride, from the
packing. I tried it in my drybox and it reduced the humidity from 65% to
35%. Wonderful!!! Just what I needed.

Now, after reading the literature inclosed (irritating to the eyes, avoid
contact with skin...) I'm wandering if this product can be harmfull to the
cameras or lenses.
Anyone knows anything about this product? Does it produces harmfull gases or
not? TIA.

Gustavo, Estoril
