Hi Jaakko,
Congratulations on getting the 1V!!!!
Im a 1V user myself and never had a problem with the focussing screen. Did
you buy the camera brand new? I have the 28-135mm IS lens and never had
problems such as blurryness. Perhaps it could be your diopter adjustment? I
would return the camera for a new one or at least for repair by Canon.
Sure its a bit heavy, but its built like a tank. I've dropped it from my
backpack once, picked it up and started shooting again!!!
Cheers,
Ethan

I recently got a new body of which I am very pleased....I had serious
thoughts between EOS 3 and 30, but finally went to 1V with PB-E2 :-)
Anyway, I'm very satisfied with my new body, but focusing screen is pretty
confusing. It is dark. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with it, it's just
some kind of like hazy or unclear. For example in my EOS 500N the screen is
much clearer. I switched focuring screen to Ec-I and with this combination
the centre of the screen is clear enough but the remaining scene is again
blurry. What is the reason for this? Can I switch some other focusing screen
to my 1V in order to get a clear vision, for example the screen used in 1
NRS?
My lens is 28-135 IS if this helps you. I have only ordinary zooms, no large
aperture primes or L-zooms yet. Should I have faster lenses in order to
avoid blurry screen as I heard somewhere....?
