I think I have heard someone say the 1V has darker screen. Also Canon documentation indicates (?) that the screen is different from the default EOS-3 screen and it should be easier to manually focus. I think I have also read that some people have replaced the 1V screen with the EOS-3 screen because of the brightness. I have only EOS-3s so can't really comment. I have held and even shot with an EOS-1V but didn't do any comparison at that time.
