I'm also under the "downstairs freezer" ruling and I like it much beter over there.
It's frozen at -20oC. Although I used to follow the 30-min defreeze procedure, now 
(when needed), I go for the 10 minute pant pocket or the 5 minute "film tea" (put it 
in warm water for 5 minutes). The tea recipe ((C) WJM) makes me a bit nervous because 
sometimes it seems like the top is
going to pop out due to the internal air expansion.
So I leave the film tea for emergency cases ONLY! (and only if I have more of that 
particular film in stock)
