Hi Howard,

I buy 35mm film in quantity when I can find it for a good price. Sometimes
when I find really good deals on bricks of film they are close to the use by
date. I buy 'em and stick 'em in the deep freeze, I've never had a problem
with film purchased this way in the last 30 years or so. I don't know
exactly when it will get used because I like to buy different films for
different projects. I routinely store all of my personal "standard" films
(films I use on a regular basis like E100S, E200, Supra 100&400 etc.), in
the brick or pro-paks inside a zip-lock bag with a little drier in our big
standalone food freezer. I typically have 8-10 bricks in the freezer at a
time, I just let it warm up fully before opening the film container to
prevent getting condensation on the film. I let a full brick thaw over
night, a pro-pak(5), 3-4 hours and have never had a problem with any of it.
Freezing your film helps it last longer and shift less if it does.

Regards,

Chip Louie
