I recently picked up a 20x30 inch from the lab from my D30. The
print was made in RAW mode at ISO 100. About a week ago I had picked
up a 24x36 inch print from a 6x7 Kodak E100SW color slide that had
been scanned in and printed on the same 600 dpi inkjet as the D30
photo.

I thought it was interesting to see the differences between the two.
While the photo from the D30 was softer, it was, to me, not
unacceptable. The photo is of a much higher quality than so many anti
digital people who preach the "theory" of resolution say that a 3.34
mpix camera can deliver. While I understand the theory they eschew,
in practice, for the things I shoot, I do not find their "theory" to
be a gospel.

If my D30 could deliver these kind of results, then my new D60 will
deliver a much better result.....good enough for almost everything I
shoot.

To see a photo of a small portion of the enlargements see:

These photos were made with the D60 in RAW mode then sized to
1024x683 pixel size. The photos were saved as a .jpg at level 9
compression. So be prepared....the files are rather large..about
300k each.

While I know this is not the best way to do this, it does give a good
idea of how the prints look.
