I think my next purchase will be a cheap fisheye or pseudo fisheye lens, mainly for use on crowd shots on opening nights and fooling around. A true Canon fisheye lens is far too dear for my intended purposes, but a few alternatives I have run across are as follows:
Porter's Camera Store has a 0.25x fake fisheye lens attachment with different mounts, which is currently what I am leaning towards: http://porterscamerastore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=p cs&Product_Code=09-0826 Adorama markets a 0.42x fake fisheye lens as reviewed in PopPhoto (oooh, it MUST be good <snicker>) for dirt cheap: http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=details&sid=101771158414352010&sku=LNF E58 and of course, there is the Zenitar that folks on this list have raved about, available again on eBay, but (especially with shipping and wire fees) a bit more than I am willing to pay right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1348788812 Has anyone used either of the fake fisheye attachments? Or maybe even something else? Any comments? Thanks! Pattie -- Pattie Anderson [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pattiea.com "Seek respect mainly from thyself, for it comes first from within." ~ Steven H.
