Your post seems innocent enough, so we'll give you the benefit of the
doubt and not assume you're trying to start a flame war with this
often-asked question!  

Here's my take from having read ad nauseum about it.  They are both
top-notch systems.  The reason most often cited for switching to Canon
is the optics selection, and Image Stabilization technology.   I don't
know directly, but I've heard people claim that the Nikon matrix
metering system is superior to Canon's but I find the metering on my
EOS 30 to be highly satisfactory - with and without flash.
