I have looked at it. Perhaps at 20x30 the 100-400 is notiecably sharper, but I don't print that large. At 11x14 and 13x19, even with a bit of cropping, I can't see any significant difference. More importantly, the 70-200 + 2X gives what I feel is more flexibility. I can shoot with or w/o the TC, giving me a fast 2.8 when I need it, and up to 400mm when I need that. Both are very good lenses, and both have pluses and minuses. I think it's pointless to argue about which is "better." Both are tools, and which is better is going to depend on each photographers needs. ===== Bob Meyer I wish I knew what I know now, when I was younger... http://www.meyerweb.net/epson __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
