um, reference any (or at least nearly any) portrait book, or professional
portrait photographer, and you may be surprised to learn that the eyes are
usually the only sharp focus item - real easy with a 2.8.  Really helps
selling to the 98% of the population who are not supermodels!

Easy to focus with an F2.8 but I know of no portrait studio photographer who
uses F2.8. 
If the eyes are in focus at F2.8 are the ears and nose? If you can reference
someone I am all ears (and in focus at that). All the pros I know typically
use F5.6.
