I also really, really dislike the push-pull zoom action on the 100-400. I find it not terribly smooth. When shooting sports, the zoom ring on the 70-200 makes it much easier (for me, at least) to keep up with players moving toward me. ===================================
I am totally opposite to you, I find the push-pull much easier to use (Focus while zooming).
