Well, the camera's battery indicator is made to approximate battery life for the batteries as described specifically in the manual. When using a battery pack with other batteries than originally intended for the camera without the pack, the indicator's voltage "triggers" for the various discharge stages are wrong for those batteries. This of course leads to wrong readings... However, "completely empty" is most of the time correct =P
But Jorge, you're not talking about a battery pack are you... Did your problem occur with an old battery, possibly included in the box? Was it very cold or warm that day? Did your problem re-occur with the new battery?
