Hi Ken,

I think you hit it on the head, this lens is meant for the small sensor EOS
D30/60 user or a buyer who shoots film looking to get a faster normal zoom
who won't or can't buy an EF 16/17-35 2.8L to fill out the short end.  I too
cannot believe that even Canon could make the lens appreciably sharper or
with more contrast than the existing EF 28-70 2.8L, it's already incredibly
sharp and shows every pore, line and minor crack on a woman's face!

The only way to improve this lens would have been to make an it EF 28-105
2.8L IS IMO.
