To answer on two levels: For the original question of US$1500 per lens, I'd suggest:
16-35 f2.8L, 50mm f1.4, 70-200 f2.8L IS. Then to cater for less "exotic" lenses and also for a nice lightweight travel kit, I'd go for the following 2 lens kit: Sigma 20m f1.8 EX, 28-135 IS. Alternatively for 3 lenses: 20-35 USM, 50 1.8 and 70-200 f4L You could also include a Tamron SP 1.4 convertor and still keep the budget and weight about half of the first list. Regards Gary P.S. I've used all of the above lenses at some time and heartily recommend the lot. The Sigma 20/1.8 is not great at the corners at max aperture for 35mm, but for digital EOS bodies where the FOV cropping means you're using the centre, it's a nice fast low light lens, giving a reasonably wide FOV and good sharpness. >> Original Message: Thu, 21 Nov 2002 15:40:10 >> From: John Lovda <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> >> I think the reason you don't see it mentioned >> is this message board seems to be used mainly >> by either pros or "wana-be pros" (wealthy >> amateurs).
