There is a key with down arrow on my keyboard. Using that takes me to the end of message. Also I can mark lines from the text by holding shift and up/down arrow. marked text is easy to remove by one stroke of backspace and that takes care of the unrelevant lines.

That's what happends when everyone at a thread use top posting.
Threads usually drift from the original topic and that's why it's good to include the _relevant_ part of the original message which one is commenting to.
