For once it wasn't someone cursing at me :-)

I have an EF 50mm f/1.8 and have the ES-65. I suggest that you AVOID the
ES-65 because:

1) The inner plastic surface has a slight sheen (and is not lined with
Rayon anti-reflective flocking)

2) The hood is deep - too deep to be stored mounted in reverse on your
lens if you have a camera that has a popup flash.

3) The ES-65 is discontinued.

I leave the ES-65 at home in my cupboard, and use an EW-65 instead. If you
Insist on an ES-65, I suggest that you investigate the ES-65 III (intended
as an accessory for the TS-E 90mm f/2.8).
