Francis,

it actually comes out to 6 to 6.3 MByte
in case of the D60 (130 to 140 images
per 1GB MD).  This might be due to the
way the imaging chip works.  (Each pixel
only has one R, G or B component, and
the remaining channels have to be created
"artificially" [Bayes filter,  I think]).
Also,  since the RAW files differ in size,
I think there is a strong possibility that
CRW might be (LZW or run-length?) compressed.
