Mind you, I'll concede that at 8x10 print size there's probably not much in it...
Just don't expect a G1/2/3/5 to be useful for action shots with anything

Yes, with AF it's hopeless, with MF it's a little better. I'd add, using MF, in the tenth shot, the subject is in the image, but not at the position where you want it to be ... I've given up on it for real action shots. Ok, I got some usable shots by sheer dumb luck. But with the 1N, I KNOW I'll get good shots, no luck involved. I still have to try a 10D and/or 1D ...
