Hi Bob,

I've tried it my 100 f2.8 macro, and 10D with the in-camera settings set to low
contrast, and custom white balance set to that of my non-flicker light source.
Results were clearly not as good as using a scanner but fully acceptable, in my
opinion, for archival purposes.  Even high contrast Provia 100F slides shot in
sunshine were manageable, and it's ever so quick - compared to scanning.
Previously I tried the same procedure with my Coolpix 4500 but couldn't get the
in-camera contrast set low enough to capture the dynamic range of my most
attractive (high contrast) slides.
All I lacked was a simple card mask frame into which I could quickly position
the slides before each exposure.
