Yes, you can use the Sigma 2X with any Canon lens. It will only give decent results at long focal lengths though. It should be fine at 200mm. I have both a brand new Canon 2X and an older Kenko 2X MC7 and can hardly tell the difference between them in quality. both degrade the quality for sure, but it's way better than cropping. I love IS and think it's a must have on a long lens, but I hate tripods so that's up to you.
