F-Pro. Removing the (original) lens hood doesn't help and the filter is
visually clean (holding the filter againts the light) besides some minor /
transparent and cristal like contamination when I look through the viewer,
most critically. So little that I cannot imagine this is the root cause.

> Could be that the filter thread is getting slightly into the FOV. The EOS
3 does not have a 100% viewfinder (though close to) which can make a bit a
difference in particular if you shoot slides. Also a 20mm lens has quite a
big FOV so the polarizer will have a different effect in the middle of the
FOV and at the border of the FOV. Since the corners are quite a bit futher
away from the center then the middle of the four sides the brighness will
not be even along the four sides.

Thanks Robert for the swift reply. I considered the same as it seems the
most logical explanation. I therefor wonder what other EF 20mm f2.8 USM and
72 mm Circular polarization filters are known to be working fine and whether
other EOS users have experienced similar phenomena as mine. The listed
filter / lens combination should be in use elswewhere, not? Please all;
share your experiences and tell me what alternative Polar filter brand to
buy instead.

Thanks in advance, Hans
