It is my guess that stacking two filters is your problem. Companies like B+W
make special filters for wide-angle lenses that are extra thin in order to
avoid vignetting. While you might be ok without such a filter stacking two
regular filters are likely to contribute to some vignetting. Actually, you
can test it quite easily. Shoot the same picture (best is to mount the
camera on a tripod) without any filter, with only the polarizer, with only
the UV filter and with both filters. Best is too shoot some blue sky. Then
compare the images once you get them back and draw your conclusions.
Experience teaches better and is often more reliable then relying to other
people's comments. Just my opinion.
