This statement confuses me.
Peter,
I think that Julian meant "wireless slave" as a dumb manual slave triggered by another flash, like your built-in unit or studio strobes for example. Unlike the EOS flashes, the Sigma can also respond to flash triggers, what is just an extra feature.
BTW, the EOS flashes are a royal P-I-T-A when you want to trigger them using a normal (dumb) peanut-slave accessory, as they usually block after the first shot. I've heard of advanced slaves that don't block, but never really get to know the brand or model.
