Not necesserely. Sometimes I forget to switch it off and leave on Power
Save mode, so it goes to Power Down and the conserves battery's pwer
for a very long time.
I remember once being loyal Minolta shooter, I used to do this with
their 5400HS flash (their top flash till introducing 5600HS about 2-3
years ago) and teh batteryes nevertheless went flat much quicker (in
about 1-2 weeks).
