The 'DO' on the 28-300 is a typing mistake. It should have been 'L' instead. Only the 70-300 is DO (signified by the green stripe as well?) If the 28-300 was 'DO' i assume it would be more compact and could be seen as a very good all around/travel(?) option. But at 1.67Kg is a bit unlikely :) There's seems to be a new 'version' of USM and a faster IS.
