Karen I hope you have better luck with the media reader than I did. I bought
one and am very unhappy with it. I shoot 1 gig cards and using the Belkin
reader to transfer the files completely consumed the iPod battery. There is
no way to charge the iPod while you are reading the card and I guess the
constant spinning of the iPod disk uses up the battery. Thus it was only
good for ONE transfer until I could get someplace where I could recharge the
iPod. As I said, not one of my better purchases...

Mike -

Thanks for the feedback, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. I haven't bought the media reader yet and will now put that purchase on hold. Maybe they should come out with one with an integrated power supply.

Once you upload to the iPod are you able to preview on the iPod's screen? I notice the latest version of the iPod firmware allows for the viewing of the "Upload Photos" folder, but since I don't have the media reader, I'm not sure if that's just the filenames or thumbnails. Being able to see thumbnails would be fantastic.
