I'm using currently the commonly known Manfrotto 141RC pan/tilt head on my 3021. However I'm beginningg to be really pissed of with this one. Once using my EOS-3 (with recently purchased PB-E2) and 70-200/2.8L it always tends to shift no matter how hard I tight the locks. Once the setup is even a few degrees off the central balanced position to either side - leaving it alone after careful positioning always leads to undesired shifts ruining the composition. Also, the precise fine tuning of the composition is not easy task with this head due to not even movements (it cannot be moved fluently and smothly enough).
I'll be considering replacing it with another pan& tilt head of good quality, however the only good heads I'm continuing to hear around are ball-heads. The question si whetyher someone here knows and can recommend a cood pan&tilt heards adquate for my stuff: EOS-3 + PB-E2, 28-70/2.8L, 70-200/2.8L, 550EX, ....
