For an amateur, carrying around two 10d bodies would really put a
damper on a vacation. But having something like an EOS 1000S back at
the hotel might be nice. You can always buy film in a pinch.

I'd just 'have' to have my 100-400L IS and my 20-35 with me and the
10d. I think that'd do me fine for an amateur vacation.

Of course the Imagetank and battery charger can stay at the hotel too.
I carry two 512 MB CF cards and two batteries at all times anyway.
That's about it for me.
