Probably the most compelling reason to carry a 'backup' body is the need for
instant access to a second body with another lens. Digital has not removed
that requirement.
As far as pure backup is concerned: digital has not removed that requirement
either. On an assignment, even if you can preview to see whether the camera
works or not, you still need to replace it immediately if it fails.
So, the only question is: what else can I sell to buy that second 1dMark2
body :-)
