My 1D.2 will give me an 8x10 at 300 dpi straight from the camera, providing I don't have to crop. I've gotten 16x20s from my 4MP 1D with little problem. I know of others that have gone 20x30 with excellent results. Having the extra 4MPs will be nice so I won't have to do as much resampling and it affords you plenty of space for cropping.
