If you want to get action shots, a DSLR is the best option. For example, nobody is getting bird and dog action photos on their P&S like I can get on my 10d :-) But if you want to shoot family, vacation and landscape stuff, a P&S is very likely a better choice since you can more easily carry it. In the Canon lineup there are many choices. I really like the little IXY (Elph?) camera because of small size but excellent quality images. On the other end of the scale, the G5 series has more than enough controls but is a bit bigger and heavier. And there's plenty of models in between. I think you need to go to a good camera store and try out a bunch of models. Only you can decide what you like :-) I think the major advantage is size for a P&S, so I'd tend to favour the smallest ones. -- Jim Davis, Nature Photography http://jimdavis.oberro.com/ Standard Poodles for fun BMW motorcycle for pleasure * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
