Hi Jeff,

You reminded me of another point about focal length equivalence.
Except for special projects, I was used to shooting consumer grade
print film. To get sufficient resolution on RA4 paper, I had to
shoot tightly cropped.

Shooting with the EOS 20D freed me from this restriction. I can
now crop heavily into the 8.2Mpixel image without losing significant
detail. This was something not feasible with digital point and shoot
cameras.

The expanded cropping ability is another reason why I suggest
choosing a 24mm "Normal" lens instead of 35mm.

Do you think that those of use previously shooting slides might
have found the transition to DSLR easier?
