Except for special projects, I was used to shooting consumer grade print film. To get sufficient resolution on RA4 paper, I had to shoot tightly cropped. Shooting with the EOS 20D freed me from this restriction. I can now crop heavily into the 8.2Mpixel image without losing significant detail. This was something not feasible with digital point and shoot cameras. The expanded cropping ability is another reason why I suggest choosing a 24mm "Normal" lens instead of 35mm. Do you think that those of use previously shooting slides might have found the transition to DSLR easier?
