I won a Canon printer a couple of years ago, I think it was a i960 or something, and it showed the same symptoms. Since it was not purchased by me all Canon could offer was to have it repaired by the service center. Thy replaced a part it worked fine. I guess printers have to be made cheaply nowadays - the money is to be made with consumables ... Lars -- .~.
