Does anyone have an opinion on why Canon has not

one, think it would be a nice feature to have provided
that it works well. Any other opinions? Thanks.

I've had an EOS3 since they came out, and I agree, the 45 point ECF
is not very workable. However, I've set mine on 11 point focus and it
works fine, even with changing glasses, vertical, whatever. I leave
it on most of the time.
The main thing my 20D lacks is a reasonable viewfinder. The EOS3
finder isn't as good as ones like the Olympus OM-1 or Pentax MX, but
it's hugely better. If Canon put out a 30D with somewhat uprated
sensor and noise control, but especially a finder like the EOS3,
complete with ECF, I'd run out and buy it immediately. FF doesn't
interest me; I've got enough large and heavy cameras if I want
excercise, but a decent viewfinder would be heaven!
