*sigh* Unfortunately that's pretty accurate.

What I'd want though is small and light with excellent optics.
Yes there're such in the short prime category, but I want something
to shoot birds with when hiking in the wilderness, and I can only 
carry so much... on top of a tent, food for a week &c the 100-400L
does begin to feel rather heavy. :-(
