Why not buy a Nikon to Canon lens converter, and use your existing lense?
You will have to manually stop down, possibly after focusing depending on
the light, and currently manual focus anyway.

Now there's an excellent idea that hadn't occurred to me. Initially invest in a couple of EF zooms for day-to-day shooting, but use an adapter to accommodate my more exotic Nikon lenses on the 5D body. A Sekonic handheld meter is a permanent part of my photo kit anyway. And, with my shooting habits, the optional screen optimized for manual focusing would be a 5D accessory I'd buy with the camera regardless.

Thanks!
