Hi Ken D, The 100-400 is an unwieldy front-heavy beast. My arms get quite sore if I cannot use a monopod. To get best performance, use MLU and a tripod. The EF 70-300 IS USM is just as fast, almost as sharp, has better Image Stabilizer, and is a whole lot lighter. On an APS-C sensor body, the extra 30mm works better for indoor sports, while the 300mm gives as much reach as a 480mm on full frame. I find myself reaching for my wife's 70-300 IS instead of my 100-400 IS :-) Cheers Julian Loke * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
