Have you've (or anyone else, FTM) tried the 70-300 with a 500D c/u
filter?
Craig
Hi Craig,
My 500D diopter has a 72mm screwmount. If I wanted, I could fit
it on the 58mm thread of the 70-300 IS USM with a step-up ring.
Since I now have an EF 100mm f/2.8 USM macro, it seems a bit
pointless.
Thanks, Julian.
As I get older, I find the quantity and quality of my holiday snaps almost
directly, inversely proportional to the gear I carry!
I am determined to take less kit with me.
To that end, I tried and bought the 70-300 IS, to replace a 100-300 that I
don't use because it's, optically, not quite up to the task and often
demands using a tripod, which I regard as optional.
My rationale is: if the addition of a 500D can produce an acceptable result,
I would have an IS lens, capable of almost life size, and can leave the 100
macro behind.
Regards,
Craig
BTW, open to offers for the 100-300 USM, vgc, original F & R caps, hood, no
boxes or paperwork. UK preferably.
