As we are speaking about 400mm, has anybody tried the 70-200 L F/4 with a 2xTC ? Yes, I know it will be a slow beast at f/8 and you'll have to use the tape-the-contacts trick to force the AF to work, but is it optically any good? I've been considering upgrading to the 70-200L IS 2.8 for this reason, but I've doubts regarding the weight of this beast in my mini trekker.
