To Chris and the group,
You should consider image recovery software first before giving up and
reformatting.

Hi
well I've had my EOS 20D for a little while, and have reguarded it with
a little suspicion at first (prefering my other Canon digital to the
DSLR, and my EOS film SLR cos I can get 24mm wide coverage without
buying MORE lenses) but since I have one I might as well be using it
right?
well ... perhaps no ... this evening I was out on a frozen lake here in
Finland, and took a number of shots onto my 1Gig card. I came home to
take a peek at what I'd shot, and while mostly pleased (I'm starting
to think that perhaps its not so bad afterall despite my 24mm being
nearly a 35mm) I was surprised to find that 3 of the images I wanted
were NOT ON THE CARD!!
WTF??
The files up to IMG_0417.JPG were there, but there was a gap to
IMG_0420.JPG with the images I was quite interested in GONE!!!
I suspected my IBM thinkpad was not reading the CF card right, so I put
it back into the camera, and sure enough NOT THERE!!!
I probably wouldn't mind some snapshots missing, but how can I rely on
this camera to hold my 'good' shots if they vanish?
anyway ... anyone have any idea where the images may have gone? and no, I
didn't delete anything from the card, I never do untill its loaded
onto the computer.
