I agree with that statement, the software that came with a san disk extreme
card I had recovered all the lost data with ease from a CF card I had crap
out on me and it was even from a different manufacture.
Also Brian Berryhill posted this link regarding BG-ED problems a few days
ago but it also mentions lost files on Lexar cards with certain cameras,
this might be your issue.
