Yep. I remember slides, but I can't remember why... How times have changed.
On Cotty's question: I travel with the 24-70L a lot. Fabulous piece of glass. the other interesting thing is, I use the 70-200L IS more than anything else in the arsenal. I use it for macro (from a distance, but macro nonetheless), it's great at hydroplane races when I'm working the pits because I don't need to be behind the fence, and I can get good crew shots from across the pits... either one would serve me well on a trip if I had a "one lens" decision. If I had the luxury to buy one, I'd use the 35L. Nice piece of glass there, but since I own the 16-35, I can't justify the purchase.
